An Inconvenient Truth

from Pillars by Tectonic Plates

/

lyrics

when was dissolution anything more than what we are
the constellations are more than just stars
they tell a tale, a once upon a time
a familiar feeling washes over your mind

im not here to make things better
nor to make things easier
im just here to be
and one day, one day you will see

standing at the top of a skyscraper
oh how they scrape the sky
looking down at the ants
we are so small we are so Irrelavant

plunging down story after story
nothing but a few seconds of flight
an awkward abyss of silence

ask yourself was it worth it
deeply inhale and open your eyes
you never even jumped
you will never ever jump

because this is just a metaphor for life
a sardonic look at a synthetic existence

really should have pulled the ripcord
risen to the top of the clouds
now gazing down at the future
oh the possibilities are never ending

they tell me anything is possible
but i know that nothing is certain

the right side of the road in the wrong state of the mind
flooding my emotion with disingenuous ideas
reexamaning life, unfolding the fibers like an oragami swan
